My career in entertainment publicity began over 21 years ago when I uprooted myself from Vancouver to Toronto to earn my post-diploma in Corporate Communications. The stars aligned when I landed my student work placement at the Toronto International Film Festival that paved the way for opportunities at Astral Media’s The Movie Network and Global Television — and the rest, as they say, is history.
Each role provided me with invaluable hands-on experience across a wide range of projects and scenarios. I was able to immerse myself in the work while collaborating and interacting with key industry members. It’s exactly where I wanted to be and I consider myself incredibly lucky to have built my foundation in these fast-paced and creative environments.
In 2013, I made the move back to my hometown and started Social Grace Communications Inc. taking on a variety of clients/projects that eventually led me to my first unit publicity role with ICG 669. This was a game-changing experience for me and I haven’t looked back since. I also currently serve on my union’s e-board as the Publicity MAL (2020-2023 term).
My unit publicity projects to date include CBC’s The Romeo Section Seasons 1-2, ABC’s Somewhere Between, Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events Season 1, BBC America’s Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency Season 2, AT&T’s Loudermilk Season 3 and You, Me, Her Season 5, Corus’ Family Law Seasons 1-2, CBC’s The Porter Season 1, and TNT’s Snowpiercer Seasons 1-3.
